Quilt Trail Gathering

Donna Sue Groves' Tobacco Barn in Adams County

Many of our guests like to take at least one long country drive during their stay with us, meandering through the beautiful landscape of Adams County. Along the way are the famous Quilt Barns, which you've probably seen somewhere in your Ohio travels - barns adorned with either traditional quilt square patterns or more modern interpretations of ones in all shapes and sizes.

Started right here in Adams County in 2001 by Donna Sue Groves in honor of her mother, an avid quilter, Quilt Barns can now be found all over the country, with dedicated driving trails dotted along many of America's scenic backroads. In honor of the tradition's 10th anniversary, a Quilt Trail Gathering is planned for the 13th and 14th of May at the Red Barn Convention Center in Winchester, Ohio. Murphin Ridge Inn is catering the gathering, and we're bringing some of our tastiest, classic Murphin fare to the event. Click here for the menu, check out the official webpage for the Gathering, and then check us out for a comfy bed to come home to.
